Early intervention is the orthodontic treatment of children between 7 and 10 years old. Rather than focusing on straightening adult teeth, the main focus of early intervention is to ensure there is enough room for the adult teeth to come through and that the upper and lower jaw are in correct alignment. A second phase of treatment is likely required when all adult teeth have erupted.

What does a children's orthodontist look for?
