The best time to address orthodontic issues in children is often before they become bigger problems. Early intervention allows Dr Nino to guide jaw growth, create space for incoming adult teeth and set your child up for a healthier, more confident smile, for life.
Most children benefit from an assessment around age 7. The earlier we look, the more options we have.
No, a referral is not necessary to see a specialist orthodontist like Dr Gullotta. We do recommend having a general dental check-up before starting treatment though, just to make sure there are no underlying issues like decay or gum disease that need to be addressed first. Your overall dental health is just as important to us as your smile.
Your first visit includes a full orthodontic assessment, X-rays, digital scans and photos. Dr Nino will take the time to understand your goals and walk you through your options without any pressure.
Orthodontic treatment is ideally started during adolescence, between ages 10 and 14, when natural growth spurts make it easier to guide tooth and jaw alignment. In some cases, early intervention from around age 7 allows Dr Nino to identify and address issues before they become more complex.
That said, it’s never too late. More adults than ever are choosing orthodontic treatment for both their dental health and their confidence. Whatever your age, we’ll find the right approach for you.
LightForce brackets are 3D-printed to fit your teeth exactly; no two are the same. This means more precise tooth movement, greater comfort and often faster results than standard braces.
Treatment length varies depending on the complexity of each case, anywhere from several months to a couple of years. Dr Nino will give you a clear, personalised estimate after your initial assessment. The treatment process typically involves regular appointments to adjust braces or other orthodontic appliances. These appointments ensure that the teeth are moving as planned and that the treatment is progressing effectively.
