Undetectable Solutions for Crooked Teeth

Embarrassing, isn’t it?

Feeling the need to cover your mouth when you smile, I mean. But it can also be uncomfortable to think of wearing braces, particularly if you’re an adult.

While braces are wonderful for straightening your teeth and improving your oral health, they’re also rather noticeable. If you’re an adult, someone in a high visibility job or just a bit self-conscious, you might be looking for a more discreet option.

Luckily, there are a couple of options we use here at Gullotta Orthodontics to give our clients straighter teeth that are almost invisible.

Clear Braces

The classic style of braces – brackets affixed to teeth and connected with metal wires and rubber bands – are highly visible. Some people use that to their advantage by going in for bright colours and tiny decorative items like stars attached to the brackets.

We offer a more discreet look using Damon braces. Damon braces are also more comfortable than traditional braces and don’t require rubber bands. Damon Clear are almost invisible because the brackets are made from ceramic for both durability and enhanced aesthetics.

The wires are still visible, but it is the brackets which are most noticeable with traditional braces. Wires can also be made closer to the colour of the teeth.

And they can get faster results. While individual treatment time can vary, clinical studies demonstrate that Damon System treatment is up to six months faster than traditional braces.

Invisalign Aligners

Invisalign is completely different to traditional braces. Invisalign aligners consist of a series of clear plastic retainers that fit over the teeth.

The aligners must be worn at least 22 hours a day, and every two weeks you change to a new set of aligners. One of the benefits of Invisalign is the removable aligner, which makes it easier to clean and floss your teeth each day.

Originally Invisalign recommended removing the aligners for meals. But now they know that the fit is so good that you can eat and drink with the aligners in place.

One of the other great things about Invisalign is that you can remove them for a special event like a wedding or graduation.

It’s All About You

Each of these orthodontic treatments has advantages and differences.

Some styles may affect your speech or eating, as well as treatment times and the number of appointments. Certain conditions may also be treated more effectively by one system than another.

This is why you should make the decision about your braces with the advice of your trusted orthodontist. It’s also one of the reasons why we offer a free consultation. We like to discuss your lifestyle and health needs, as well as expected results.
